I've used Wisecars many times and have recommended it to others. The website is very simple to navigate and pick out cars, but most importantly the prices have always been lower than other websites.

      Hilo

      What to do in Hilo:

Hilo sits on the lush northeastern coast of Hawaiʻi Island, where frequent rainfall creates a landscape of tropical gardens, waterfalls, and dense rainforest. The town has a slower pace than many of Hawaiʻi’s resort areas, with historic buildings, local markets, galleries, and small restaurants clustered around its downtown streets. The Hilo Farmers Market is a lively stop for tropical fruit, flowers, and locally made products, while Liliʻuokalani Gardens provides a peaceful setting beside Hilo Bay. Nearby Rainbow Falls and the winding Wailuku River reveal the area’s dramatic volcanic landscape.

A rental car is particularly useful on Hawaiʻi Island, where attractions are spread across a vast and varied terrain. Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park lies south of Hilo, offering access to volcanic craters, lava fields, and rainforest trails. The Hamakua Coast provides one of the island’s most scenic drives, passing waterfalls, sea cliffs, and small communities before reaching Waipio Valley. Further inland, Mauna Kea rises into a very different alpine environment, while the coffee-growing slopes around Kona can be reached by crossing the island. Hilo provides a natural gateway to the wetter, greener side of Hawaiʻi Island.
