Brindisi is a historic port city on Puglia’s Adriatic coast, where a natural harbour has connected Italy with the wider Mediterranean for centuries. Its waterfront is lined with promenades, cafés, and restaurants, while the historic centre features Roman columns, medieval churches, and narrow streets that reflect its rich past. Castello Alfonsino, located on a small island at the harbour entrance, is one of the city’s distinctive landmarks.

Local cuisine is another highlight, with regional favourites such as orecchiette, burrata, fresh seafood, focaccia, and locally produced olive oil. Brindisi is also well placed for exploring Salento, from the whitewashed streets of Ostuni and the Baroque architecture of Lecce to the sandy beaches of the Adriatic and Ionian coasts. Traditional villages and ancient olive groves add to the appeal of the surrounding countryside.

Car rental in Brindisi makes it easy to discover Puglia beyond the city, with scenic drives to coastal towns, historic villages, and beautiful beaches. Having a car offers the flexibility to explore Salento and its countryside at your own pace.
